Graves Gloaming

This painting moves very close to the drawings. It is acrylic on canvas. Someone remarked that it reminded them of the work of Morris Graves. It also reminds me of the time just before dark when colors are intense but all is less distinct.

Snowball’s Chance

This is one of my most recent paintings. Many earlier versions exist below the surface. The approach to a painting like this is struggle upon struggle, and always being willing to obscure what was done before. It takes patience and is often frustrating. The lesson is to trust the occurrence even if it takes years.
